FAQ

Q. Do you accept my insurance?

A. We accept most insurance plans and will bill your insurance for you. There are many different insurance plans out there and they can be confusing. If you have any questions about your coverage feel free to contact the office and we will do our best to find out exactly what is covered under your plan.

Q. How long will it take for me to "get better?"

A. Everyone responds to chiropractic care differently. Symptom relief can be apparent in as little as 1 adjustment or as many as 10 adjustments. Most commonly symptom relief is evident by the 4th-7th adjustment.

Q. Can I go only once?

A. Sure. One adjustment is better than no adjustment. But Chiropractic care can be very beneficial. Why not reach your maximum health potential through continued chiropractic adjustments!

Q. Does it hurt?

A. Everyone's pain tolerance is different. If you are sensitive, you can let me know ahead of time and I will be sure to use gentle and effective techniques on your spine. However, you'll probably find adjustments to feel quite good, and relieve a lot of tension.

Q. I heard once you start going, you always have to go. Is that true?

A. No. Although I do recommend continued, or maintenance care. It is your decision if you want to discontinue care once your symptoms are relieved. Our spines put up with all kinds of stresses on a daily basis. That is why I suggest wellness care to ALL my patients.

Q. Can I adjust myself?

A. No. It took me many years to familiarize myself with the structures of the spine, and to recognize when a vertebra is misaligned compared to the surrounding vertebrae. An adjustment is a very specific correction that cannot be duplicated by anyone who has not had the proper training. Chiropractors are the only people trained to correct vertebral subluxations.

Q. Is it bad to "Crack" your neck or back a lot?

A. The desire to pop the neck or back is caused by tension from a jammed or fixated vertebra, which causes another part of the spine to compensate by "popping" a lot. The jammed part should be adjusted by a chiropractor so that the rest of the spinal column will balance and stop being so movable and noisy.

Q. What is the difference between a chiropractor and an osteopath?

A. Osteopathic Doctors do manipulations of the spine to increase circulation to an area. It is thought that this will promote healing. They do not contact a specific vertebra that is misaligned and correct vertebral subluxation.

Q. Is chiropractic care safe?

A. Chiropractic is among the safest of the healing arts. As proof, one merely has to compare malpractice rates between chiropractors and other health care professionals. Chiropractors' malpractice premiums are a small fraction of those for medical doctors, especially orthopedists and surgeons.
